I hate bugs. All bugs. I know they serve a purpose, but I refuse help them survive. My nemisis is the ant. I don't really know what it is about them that gets my blood boiling but boy does it get me hot. No matter how much I clean, keep my cereal in plastic bins, and set the traps they are always in my sink!! I almost went crazy last year in the battle and am determined to find a way to win this year.

can someone help me please???

I am perplexed by ants. Last year we had MONSTER ANTS that would come from our back patio. I live in an apartment and asked the maintenance staff to clear out the mess of plants that had been there and died, they never did and we continued to see those HUGE ANTS!! I'm not kidding... those were the biggest I had EVER seen... they reminded me of the ants on "Honey I Shrunk The Kids!" I would like suggestions too. They bombarded us through winter too!

Oh, and just an FYI... I found a wasp in my bedroom last night! It took some guts to kill that thing! I have no idea how he got in, but that's a sure sign of Spring!

We had ant problems when we moved to this subdivision four years ago. Our next door neighbor did too. We were using two different exterminators. Her exterminator said the ants were coming from our house to hers. We searched the yard and shed but never found a nest. The neighbor cleaned out her shed and found a huge ant nest in some boxes that hadn't been moved for years. She killed all the ants, and we've not had a problem since. We have had the exterminator doing quarterly exterior spraying, but I'm wondering if that is a waste of money.

I had an issue with ants too.

We had some anti-nausea liquid in the medicine cabinet on the second floor - and sure enough, it was infested...I was so grossed out (too bad I couldn't use the anti - nausea liquid!)

When we moved into our house, we had a problem with roaches. We moved into the house in Decemeber and in the spring, I was noticing one or two - but then when darkness fell - the came out in droves. I bought the roach traps thinking that would get them. But hubby made the observation that they were TOO BIG to get in to get the bait....I finally called the exterminator, and he said they were ground roaches, they were coming from the outside in - searching for food.

He sprayed and I hoped they were gone. The next morning I went outside to go to work and the driveway looked the shore of Normandy....bodies everywhere....and they were HUGE! It was NASTY!!!

For some reason, our bug of choice this year would be the spider....I seem to have them everywhere this year!

LOL, shores of Normandy, I love it. Gross, but funny.

They make my head hurt so much. I went and got that fun stuff you spread around your house, but that was 3 days ago and they are still in my sink. I swear I don't even keep anything in there we put stuff right into the dishwasher! I tried last year to clean the pipes thinking maybe there was something in there they were after. Didn't work.

We have the same problem with ants. Seems like every Spring they make an appearance. We have had a lot of success with a product called Terro. You put a few drops on a piece of cardboard (which is included) and it attracts the ants. The ants then carry it back to the colony and it kills off the entire lot. This works well for the "sweet" ants, as my grandmother calls them, but didn't really help with the larger ants outdoors. We use T & G Pest control for the outdoor extermination and they are FANTASTIC! I believe it is only $35.00 for the first spray, and if you see any ants within 2 weeks they will spray again for free. One time is all it has every taken for us. The product they use is also odorless and is completely safe for children and pets to be around. This was very important to us as our oldest son has reactive airway disease, so we have to be hyper-vigilant about any sprays used.

We have had ants, too. My son used to look for them on the kitchen floor first thing in the morning. But, we have Arrow do a quarterly treatment, inside and out, safe for kids and animals, for ants plus tons of other things. I think it's $70 a quarter. We also have carpenter bees, which drive me crazy and they scare the kids.

Okay, just wanted to update. I bought a little white canister of this pellet stuff you sprinkle all around your house, then wet with the water hose. It is supposed to keep them, and spiders, ticks, etc out. It has been about 2 weeks, and I have not seen them since about 3 days after I did it. I don't for the life of me remember what it was, white canister, in lawn and garden at the Wal Mart, I think it started with a O... I don't know but I am happy! No ants on my counter!

Okay well that stuff worked for oh, 3 weeks. Now I have ants again. I could just rip my hair out. I have all my cereal in plastic containers, I wipe down the counters every time I am in there, and yet, I awake today with a sink full of em!!! Argh!

I am tempted to call the bug people and spend the couple hundred bucks just to regain my sanity!
