I am looking for canning supplies.. I am a total newbie, so I am needing a rack, jars, etc. anything I would need to hot water can salsa or jams. I am on a beyond thread bare budjet, so it needs to be yard sale pricing or barter.

Sounds crazy but sometimes goodwill carries the jars - every now and then they also get the lids!

I have jars and possibly some lids in our attic. I am not sure how many without going up to check. Let me know if you are still interested and I will see what I can find. Sara

Unfortunately no. I was going to let you know yesterday, but I got wrapped up in all the back to school prep. We sold very little glassware items yesterday because we had so much furniture, lawn mowers, vehicles... I wish I would have know someone in the market for some nice furniture. It sold really cheap yesterday. We have an absolute sale on the 23rd, and I know the owners had a farming business. Hopefully they will have some canning supplies. I'll also check with Scott Dixon (from Dixon and Dixon Auctions) and have him watch for some.

You are really kind to offer. I have everything I need to get started now, and now am looking for canning jars, lids, and bands in usable condition. The major thing was a hot water canner and some of the utensils. I have a friend who has some extra pears that she is bringing by today and I may try to process those..not enough tomatoes or fruit to do anything else in these teeny jelly jars, LOL.

Let me know if you still want them and we can work out a way to get together. I just now reread the post about your friend asking about the auctions. They are sooo much fun! I work for a company that does both private sales and public consignment. We are having a sale at 12:00 tomorrow at the auction center in Lynnville. There is a lot of everything, from glassware, pots and pans, quilts, furniture, tools, ect... If she is interested in area auctions, she can check out www.auctionzip.com and search by zip code for area auction listings. If she decides to come out, tell her to come say "hello" to me. I'm generally sitting beside the auctioneer during the sales, but can be found in the office before and after the sale.

Let me know about the jars. I am still interested in the jars--can you give me a few days to come up with the cash? How many jars would you say are in the boxes? I would like to try to make sure I have a safe spot for them. I will PM you my email.
