I wholeheartedly agree that there needs to be more oversight of manufacturing and food production. When I started eliminating artificial food dyes from the boy's diet, I became very aware of just how many ingredients have chemical names. It makes you wonder what impact they are having on our bodies.

I really got interested in enviromental factors and their impact on their body when I was diagnosed with my brain tumor. I had lost my best friend (and next door neighbor) to leukemia when I was in first grade. Then I was diagnosed with my tumor, and a year later a friend who grew up on the street directly behind my parent's house was also diagnosed with a brain tumor. Unfortunately, she died a year and a half ago. Another friend of mine from high school was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago, but she is doing really well. How does so many seemingly healthy women get these dreadful ailments?
