My mom taught me to knit last year but I didn't have the patience to do much with it. Now I'm working on a bib for my brother's unborn baby and I'm having so much fun!! I think I might like to keep doing this...I enjoy having things to do with my hands while sitting. I'm using cotton yarn in bright blue, green, and yellow.

A knitting newbie here. I went to a few knitting sites and downloaded videos to watch repeatedly to assist me in mastering the basics. I haven't had a ton of time to sit and knit lately, but I hope to have some more time soon.

Maybe you could find something to do like handmade, soft knitted washclothes..or maybe a soft baby blanket or knitted ball for the baby to play with when a bit older, (you could put a jingle bell or something in it if you wanted too).

I understand not having the patience for it.. took me a while to get some, (patience).

Being on bedrest is the BEST time to work on knitting! Your hands can have something to do while you watch tv or hang out...keeps you occupied.

Knitting is very relaxing to do when watching TV, waiting for appointments and there are a TON of patterns available online. I haven't knitted since we drove to Florida (also great way to stay occupied on long trips). But as the weather starts getting cooler it will definitely be time to pull out those needles. I'm probably going to tackle some more gloves for the kids this winter and maybe a more complicated sock pattern.
